About Richard Thomas

An amateur outdoor and nature photographer who makes his home in St. Augustine, Florida, Richard’s passion is photographing the beauty of what remains of natural Florida. As a sixth generation Floridian, his love of natural Florida runs deep.

After graduation from the College of Natural Sciences (Microbiology) at the University of South Florida and studies in Anthropology (Archaeology) from the College of Social Sciences, he instead chose a career in Information Technology. After nearly 39 years in Information Technology Management, Richard retired to pursue his love of the natural sciences, the outdoors, and photography. For the past 15 years Richard's love of outdoor photography has taken him to 20 countries; at the same time, he still finds Florida inspires him the most.

Through photography Richard tries to capture those fleeting moments we outdoor enthusiasts experience that usually only exist in our memories.  Whether it’s an early morning sunrise on some favorite body of water, a beautiful or elusive wildflower, or even wildlife going about their lives; he photographs natural Florida in order to share with others. Through his photography, it’s Richard’s hope you can sense a bit of the beauty that remains of wild Florida.
